Albert "Liney"'s Story
Mr. Albert "Liney" Linedecker, 91, passed away on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. He was born in Stockwell on Jan. 12, 1926, a son of the now late Albert B. and Hazel Mildred (Crose) Linedecker.
He was a 1944 graduate of Stockwell High School. Following graduation, he served during World War II in the United States Marine Corps. He then returned to Stockwell.
In July 1944, he was married to Patsy Eller Linedecker in Stockwell; they divorced in 1962. He then married Doris Virginia (Huffman) Beasey on March 31, 1967, in Lebanon. Doris passed away on May 30, 2016.
Liney dedicated 70 years to the lumber business, working in the Colfax, Zionsville and Lebanon communities. In February 1963, he was the Lumber Center Manager for Metzger Lumber in both Zionsville and Lebanon. Most recently, he was employed as an estimator for Kramer Lumber in Lebanon.
Liney attended Centenary United Methodist Church in Lebanon, and was a former member of the Elks Club.
He loved the time spent with his family and enjoyed watching sports.
Survivors include daughter, Pam Lippert of Carlisle, Pa.; three stepchildren, Roberta Gidman of Lebanon, Darrell D. Beasey and wife, Carolyn, of Indianapolis, and Mark A. Beasey and wife, Pamela, of Lake Wales, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Deloris Linedecker of Brownsburg; grandchildren, Doniel Kolm and husband, Peter, of Lebanon, Dennis Gilmore and wife, Tonya, of Carlisle, Denise Cochran and husband, Brian, of Lebanon, Paul Shoemaker of Brownsburg, Shannon Cooper and husband, Jeff, of Rockville, Christina Hiland and husband, Danny, of Lebanon, Cari Pugh and husband, Robert, of Sheridan, Kelly Gilbert of Ft. Wayne, and Laura Kutz and husband, Sean, of Pahrump, Nev.; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Phyllis Memmer of Lafayette.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Liney was preceded in death by a son, Fred Linedecker; a sister, Mary Lou Garrett; a brother-in-law, Harold Memmer; and two great-grandsons, Brayton Hiland and Daniel Thomas Stevenson.
Visitation is planned for 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services are to be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the mortuary, with the Rev. James Paino officiating. Interment, with military rites, will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
