Aletha Mary Cohee, 90, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Boone County on May 8, 1927, a daughter of the now late Jesse Ray and Golda (Dye) Hardesty.
Aletha was a 1945 graduate of Perry Central High School.
She was married to Gerald Wayne Cohee in Whitestown, on March 29, 1953. He preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2010.
Aletha had worked for the Lebanon Utilities in the accounts receivable department for more than 30 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Aletha took great pride in her Eastern Star activities and she was a Grand Helper for the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Indiana. In her spare time she liked to do crossword puzzles, word searches, needle point and read.
She was a member of the Dover Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela S. Cohee of Lebanon and Cynthia A. Cohee of Lebanon; and two nieces and three nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Aletha was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Hardesty; two sisters, Mildred Allen and Jean Fieder; and brothers-in-law, Melvin Allen and John Fieder.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 30, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Eastern Star rites will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Funeral services are planned for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Dover Christian Church, 955 SR 75, Lebanon. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
