Mrs. Belva Jane Barnett, 90, of rural Kirklin, died July 18, 2016, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. She was born Sept. 25, 1925, in Clinton County, to Thomas and Frieda (Sharp) Spray.
She married Paul Barnett Jr. on June 17, 1944; he preceded her in death on May 31, 2014.
Belva was a 1943 graduate of Kirklin High School. She moved to Boone County in 1956.
A homemaker and farm wife, she worked at Pow Wow Daycare and Kidsworld Daycare, both in Thorntown, for 10 years.
Belva was a member of the Scotland Christian Church and the Jolly Dozen Euchre Club. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, flowers and feeding the birds.
Survivors include two sons, James L. (Karen) Barnett of Kirklin and Jerry L. (Linda) Barnett of Kirklin; two brothers, Gilbert F. "Si" (Edna May) Spray of Frankfort and Tom (Vicki) Spray Jr. of Kempton; two grandchildren, Jeffrey L. (Denae) Barnett of Zionsville and Jason C. (Jodi) Barnett of Lebanon; and six great-grandsons, Tyler, Bryce, Ryan, Wyatt, Ethan and Colton.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Henry Spray.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 21, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, at the funeral home. Ken Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Scotland Church.
