Betty Ann (Brown) Chaney, 87, of Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016. Born Oct. 7, 1929, in Pontiac, Mich., she was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary (Call) Cooper of Russellville; husband, Richard G. Brown; grandson, Matthew Stephenson; and granddaughter, Katie Brown.
Mrs. Chaney earned her teaching degree from Indiana University.
Prior to leaving Indiana, Mrs. Chaney worked in the Lebanon Clerk/Treasurer's Office and taught many years at Granville Wells Elementary School.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Donald Chaney of Ft. Myers; sister, Beverly Barnhart of Russellville; daughters, Bonnie (Chip) Spelman of Cicero, Janet (Keith) Stephenson of Columbus and Lisa (Tom) Garoffolo of Lebanon; son, Mark (AJ) Brown of Raleigh, N.C.; granddaughters, Melissa Henderson of Missoula, Mont., and Emily Webb of Lebanon; grandsons, Chad Remsen of Cicero and Sam Brown of Chicago, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, Zane and Carter Remsen, Sayer and Hadley Henderson, and Riley Webb.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
