Betty Jo Martin, 79, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017. The was born in Boone County on Jan. 25, 1938, a daughter of the now late Alfred Eugene Belt and B. Pearl (Caldwell) Belt.
Betty attended Perry-Worth High School and then graduated with the Zionsville High School class of 1956.
For many years, she worked as a title searcher for Boone County Abstract and Royal Title Company.
She was a member of The Eagles Auxiliary for 30 years and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 26 years.
Betty loved her family and was deeply devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include companion, Densell Hale of Lebanon; six children, Kenneth Murlin Martin, Annette Joan (Campbell) Shue, Thomas Paul LaFave, Joanna Lynn (Smith) Tibbs, Diana Michelle (Smith) Imes and Melissa Jo (Smith) Howard; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Rose (Belt) Deakins.
Visitation is planned for after 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Boone County Crematory in Lebanon.
