Mr. Bob J. Anderson, 74, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Otterbein, on Aug. 30, 1942, a son of the now late James Dallas Anderson and Lillie Mae (Chriswell) Anderson.
A longtime resident of Lebanon, he was a graduate of Pinnell High School. Following school, he worked as a union carpenter and had owned and operated the Gulf Service Station on Indianapolis Avenue. Most recently, he worked as an independent truck driver for over 41 years. After his retirement, Bob kept busy helping with the care of Pratt Storage.
He was generous man, always helping others including mowing their lawns free of charge. He never met a stranger and enjoyed "coffee-time" with his many friends. In addition, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, mowing and cutting wood with his grandsons.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Anderson and wife, Denise, of Jamestown, and Jeff Anderson of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Dustin Anderson and wife, Danielle, Josh Anderson and wife, Kylie, Cody Anderson and Jacob Anderson; three great=grandchildren, Jace Anderson, Bentley Anderson and Brycen Anderson; two sisters, Jo Cunningham and husband, Ed, of Lebanon, and Pam Pratt and husband, Ted, of Lebanon; brother, Donald R. Anderson and wife, Charlotte, of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, James Calvin Anderson.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
