Mr. Bobby L. Halford, 70, passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 4, 2018, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. He was born in Stuttgart, Ark., on Jan. 19, 1947, a son of the late Eddie L. and Norma J. (Abney) Halford.
On June 15, 1968, he married Marilyn K. (McClaine) Halford in Lebanon, she survives and this year would have marked their 50th wedding anniversary.
Bobby was a 1967 graduate of Granville Wells High School and joined the Air Force following high school where he served four years with a tour of Duty in Vietnam from 1968-1969.
He was employed over 35 years as a machinist working for Union Carbide in Speedway, which later became Praxair, retiring in 2009. In retirement he worked at Twin Lakes Golf Course.
Bobby was a member of the American Legion, a Deacon at New Brunswick Church and recently involved at Traders Point Church, Whitestown. Bobby was a volunteer firefighter in Lizton. He enjoyed woodworking, and golf and was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn K. Halford of Lebanon; three children, Melissa K. (Dan) Hasty of Lebanon, Brian L. Halford and companion, Serena Frazier of Lebanon and Scott J. (Cody) Halford of Ladoga; 11 grandchildren; and brothers, Dennis (Janet) Halford of Crawfordsville and Mike Halford of Crawfordsville.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Halford.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., in Lebanon. Visitation is planned from 12-2 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment with Military Rites will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
