Brenda Maxine Ranney, 71, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on March 21, 1946, in Marianna, Ark. She was a daughter of the now late James Gordon Evans and Captola Jane (Riden) Evans.
Brenda was reared and educated in Arkansas until 1955, when she moved to Lebanon and finished school.
On May 20, 1964, she was married to Steve Martin; they later divorced. She then married Ronnie Ranney on Dec. 24, 2003. Ronnie passed away on March 27, 2008.
Brenda had worked for Shumate Business Forms for several years. Her most recent employment was at Arby's in Lebanon.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Brenda enjoyed reading and watching mysteries, collecting Indian items, and going to the Covered Bridge Festival. She loved being outdoors and spending time with her family.
Survivors include children, Angie Stoeberl and husband, Richard, of Almena, Wis., Steve Martin and wife, Lyn, of Forsythe, Mo., Tammy Culley and husband, Bryan, of Lebanon, and Rick Martin and wife, Tiffany, of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Makayla Culley, Bryan Culley Jr. and wife, Aleigh, Brittany Smith and Brooke Martin; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Culley and Brayden Culley; sister, Jane Willhite and husband, Robert, of Lebanon; brother, Larry Evans and wife, Stella, of Ft. Worth, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Brenda was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Grice; brothers, Hubert Evans and Jimmy Evans; brother-in-law, James Grice; two nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services are to be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
