C. Maxine's Story

Mrs. C. Maxine Paris, 95, of Lebanon, passed away Oct. 2, 2017, at Homewood Healthcare in Lebanon.
Maxine was born July 1, 1922 in Clinton, Indiana, to Jesse and Alma (Clem) Tillotson. She had three brothers and three sisters; they are all deceased. She was married to Owen W. Paris on April 27, 1946. He passed away in 2012.
In 1952 Maxine and Owen moved to Shannondale where they farmed until 1967. They moved to Monticello where she worked in retail and he worked in real estate. In 1972 they moved to Ft. Myers, Florida where they owned and operated the Empire Lounge Royal for several years. They returned to Boone County in 1993.
Maxine loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed traveling, walking and shelling on the beaches of Sanibel, listening to country music and square dancing. Memories of her brewed sweet tea, homemade German chocolate cake, applesauce, ice cream, grilled cheese sandwiches and boxed wine will be forever ingrained in our hearts!
Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Doug) Campbell and son, Sonny (Janet Summers) Paris, all of Lebanon; grandchildren, Michelle (David) Nelson of Lebanon, Stephanie (Mark) Jones of Thorntown, Krista (Michael) Burtron of Lebanon, Jason (Crystal) Paris of Leesville, Louisiana, and Claire Paris of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kelli (Chris) Allen, Natalie (Korey) Copeland, Tyler (fiancé Lexi Beaulieu) Paris, Jacob (fiancé Jessie Hartline) Nelson, Caitlin Jones, Brittany Paris, Kobe Burtron, Carson Burtron, Stuart Jones, Trinity Paris, Traeh Paris and Isabella Paris; great-great-granddaughter, Irena Paris; a daughter-in-law, Irene Paris of San Antonio, a sister-in-law, Eileen Tillotson of Attica; many nieces and nephews and all of the staff at Homewood who took care of her and loved her like family the past five years.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Maxine will be laid to rest at Union Christian Cemetery in Fountain County.
