Cara Crane, 23, of Indianapolis, formerly of Lebanon, passed away April 24, 2017. Cara was born on June 2, 1993, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Dave Crane and Michelle Ostewig Crane.
Cara attended Lebanon High School and graduated in 2012. She excelled in all sports including basketball, swimming and softball, along with cheerleading.
Cara was a social butterfly and she loved being with her friends and family. She was the most grateful person ever. Cara loved elderly people and had a very caring heart.
After high school, Cara started beauty school because of her love for hair and makeup.
Survivors include her father, Dave (Tiffany) Crane of Florida; her mother, Michelle (fiancé, Kyle Ellis) Crane of Indianapolis; her grandparents, Patricia Ostewig of Lebanon, Jenny (Lowell) Lemon of Westfield, and Carl (Nina) Crane of Lebanon; her brother, Chad Crane; her stepbrother, Brenden Montgomery; her aunts, Terri (Tom) Barts of St. Louis, Mo., Amy (Randy) Campbell of Lebanon, Tammy (Mike) Spidel of Lebanon, and Jana Dittemore of Indianapolis; her uncles, Steven (Linda) Ostewig of Greenfield, Larry (Lisa) Lemon of Carmel, and Donald (Susie) Crane of Lebanon; and several cousins. Cara was preceded in death by her grandfather, Karl Ostewig; and her aunts, Eve Marie and Rebecca Kay Ostewig. Family and friends will gather Friday, April 28, for visitation from 5 until 9 p.m., and services will be held Saturday, April 29, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Benjamin Crockett officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Cara will be laid to rest at Brown's Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon.

Cara struggled with drug addiction for the last five years of her life, and unfortunately lost her life to a drug overdose. This cause was always near and dear to her, along with her family and friends.
