Carol L. Haughton, 81, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017, at her son's home in North Carolina. She was born in Huntington County, on Aug. 2, 1935, to the now late Aaron Wilbur and Marie (Crick) York.

She was married at New Hope Church in Frankfort on Oct. 17, 1954, to William Joseph Haughton; Carol's father performed the ceremony. William preceded her in death.

She remembered having blackout periods/drills, watching her uncles go to war and the country coming behind our troops, and celebrations at the end of the wars in Germany in May 1945, and Japan in August 1945.
Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carol liked sewing, crafts, and working with Alpaca and doing felting. She enjoyed spending time in North Carolina with her son at the Smokey Mountain Meadows Camp Ground.
