Carolyn's Story

Mrs. Carolyn S. Lamar, 83, of Lebanon, passed away Dec. 23, 2016, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.
Carolyn was born on Dec. 24, 1932, in Indianapolis, the daughter of the now late Morris and Louise (Robertson) Williams. She was married to Richard Lamar. He preceded her in death.
Carolyn worked on the family farm with her husband. She had been a cook in the Thorntown school system, worked at the Sheridan IGA and volunteered at The Caring Center and Witham Hospital.
Survivors include her children, Dan (Sue) Lamar and Katy (Paul) Bowman, all of Lebanon, and Jim (Jeanine) Lamar of Milan; grandchildren, Jeremy (Meghan) Lamar of Lebanon, Jessica (Travis) Bonnell of Indianapolis, Michelle (Greg) Barber of Danville, Nikki (Josh) Haire of West Chester, Ohio, Paula (Jeff) Graves of Lebanon, Ed (Debbie) Bowman of Lebanon, Aleshia (Paul) Whitlow of Port St. Joe, Fla., Luke Lamar of Milan, and Christine Lamar of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Ethan Lamar, Harper Lamar, Carter Bonnell, Connor Bonnell, Adam Barber, Lydia Barber, Kendyl Haire, Maddox Haire, Emily Graves, Kyle Payne, Brandan Bowman, Braydon Bowman, Karissa Bowman, Les Paul Whitlow, Chance Whitlow and Jay Whitlow; a brother, Randall Williams of New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Carol Bowman; great-grandchildren, Jay Graves and Charlie Whitlow; brother, Kay Williams; and sister, Donna Lou Frye.
Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Dec. 28, for visitation from 4 until 8 p.m., and services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Salem Cemetery in Zionsville.
