Charles Lee Serie, 84, passed away at his home in Lebanon on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017. He was born in Attica, on July 18, 1933, a son of the late Chester "Chet" Serie and Dorothy M. (Ennis) Serie Neese Hall.
Charles attended Washington High School in Indianapolis. He joined the United States Airforce in 1953. He was married to Bette Belle (Thornton) Serie, they later divorced and she passed away on April 17, 1995.
At the age of two Charles moved to Indianapolis from Attica. He then moved to Lebanon in 1971 and has been a resident ever since. Charles was employed at William H. Block and Company for 32 years as a delivery driver and mechanic and worked for Elector-Spec, Inc. in Franklin, in the planting operations division.
Charles enjoyed model airplanes both radio control and control line. He was also involved with VRC Flyers (formerly known as "Lebanon Air Nuts"). Charles was a member of the Lebanon Eagles and American Legion in Lebanon.
Survivors include two daughters, Lee Ann Serie of Lebanon and Stephanie L. (Dennis) Johnson of Lebanon; companion, Lois Haney of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Brittney (Ron) Huffman of Lebanon, Thomas Johnson and companion, Zachary Smithson of Indianapolis, Amy Johnson and companion, Brian Garland of Lebanon; three great-grandchildren; and two half-sisters and three step-sisters.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, Charles was preceded in death by a step-sister, Ellen Yates. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., in Lebanon. No services are planned.
Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
