Cindy L. Arend, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017. She was born in Camp Lejeune, N.C., on July 17, 1954, a daughter to the late Charles Henry "Chuck" Secor and Marilyn Jean (Russell) Arend.
She graduated from high school in 1972, in Texas, and later graduated from IUPUI in Indianapolis.
Cindy was married to Michael E. Arend on July 15, 1973 in Amarillo, Texas, they later divorced.
She had been a resident of Lebanon since 2006. Cindy had worked as a clerk in the payroll office at IUPUI for many years, retiring July 20, 2016.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she volunteered her time and on many occasions. In her free time, Cindy enjoyed reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Jody T. Arend and companion, Jeffrey Nailer of Lebanon, and Laurie L. Arend of Lebanon; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and three on the way; sister, Deryl A. Middleton of Burke, Va.; two brothers, Timothy K. Secor of Orlando, Fla. and Russell J. Secor of Lebanon. In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by two brothers, Lonny Lee Secor and Kim D. Secor.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 319 E. South St., in Lebanon, with Rev. Timothy Kroeger, officiating. Visitation is planned from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lebanon. Myers Mortuary in Lebanon has been entrusted with her arrangements.
