Curtis W. Neal, 94, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday morning, June 25, 2017, in Hickory Creek at Lebanon. He was born in Pittsboro on Sept. 18, 1922, to the now late Drury C. and Amy F. (Friedrich) Neal.
Curt graduated from North Salem High School in 1940. He attended Indiana University, Purdue University and Canterbury College.
He married Frances Hine on April 23, 1949, in Lebanon. She preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 1989.
Mr. Neal served in the United States Marine Corps from 1940 to 1945. He served in the Southwest Central Pacific Theater. He was an engineer and accountant for Ford Motor Company for 23 years, before retiring in 1980.
Curt was a member of the American Legion Post #24 in Columbus, the Marine Corps Association and the National Rifle Association. He attended the Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include a son, Jerry (Darlene) Neal of Lebanon; a sister-in-law, Dorothy M. Smith of Lebanon; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Sherry Graham of Lebanon.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Morken Purcell; and brothers, Arlie, Melvin, Marvin and Thomas.
At his request, there will be no services.
