Dale E. Luper, age 83, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Lebanon. He was born September 8, 1933 in Clinton County, Indiana, a son of the late Albert Ray and Inez Grace (Fisher) Luper.
Dale had attended schools in both, Clinton and Boone Counties.
On January 14, 1956, he was married to Sharon M. (Hester) Luper in Russellville, Indiana. They had spent 58 loving years together before her passing on December 5, 2014.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he loved spending time with his family. Dale enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard, planting flowers.
His memberships included being a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lebanon where he held the positions of Elder and Deacon, as well as the Lebanon Jaycees.
In the early 1950s, he began working for Wood Wholesale until they closed business. Dale then operated six lobby shops in the Indianapolis community serving many working downtown for about twenty years. He and his wife also operated the grocery store at Mechanicsburg for eight years.
He is survived by his children, Linda Sullivan (Steve) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sheri Parcels (Greg) of Brownsburg, Indiana, Dennis Luper (Cindy) of Lebanon and Jennifer Wagner (Joe) of Lebanon; grandchildren, Tom Sullivan (Laura) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Katie Sullivan of Cincinnati, Ohio, Maggie Sullivan-Miller (Adam) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Krista Hunter (Kyle) of Evansville, and Brittany Wright and fiancé, Andy Studer of Lebanon; step grandchildren, Todd Anderson of Lebanon and Mary Reid of Indianapolis; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Cody Hunter of Evansville; and sister-in-law, Martha Luper of Bradenton, Florida. In addition to his parents and his wife, Dale was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Alfred Luper and John Luper, and a grandson, Michael Sullivan.
Visitation will be held at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 and the funeral will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Terri Thorn officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery, Russellville, Indiana.
