Mr. Danny Lee Isenhower, 70, of Lebanon, passed away Dec. 19, 2017, at Witham Memorial Hospital.
Danny was born July 6, 1947, in Lebanon, a son of David Fredrick and Rose Marie (Mayhew) Isenhower. He married Mary Martha Bonwell 47 years ago, in April of 1970. She survives.
Danny graduated from Lebanon High School and then went on to serve in the United States Navy. He then went on to work for Indiana Equipment and Dow Chemical for 7 years. At that point, Danny became involved with civil defense and went to the police academy in Plainfield. He became a Lebanon Police officer until he retired in 2005, serving 28 ½ years. Danny was a member of the FOP Lodge and the Jamestown American Legion.
Survivors include his wife Mary Martha Isenhower of Lebanon; his children Roy (Michele) Isenhower of Lebanon, James (Penny) Isenhower of Lebanon, Jennifer Isenhower of Greenfield and Joan (Kari Koehn) Irwin of Greenfield; his brothers Dennis "Denny" Isenhower of N.C., Wilbur (Rhonda) Isenhower of Avon and Del (Theresa) Isenhower of Lebanon; his sister Wanda (Tom) Volbrecht of Lebanon; and his grandchildren Brittany and Jarrod (Camille) Irwin, and Tyler, Brandon, Nicholas and Devin Isenhower.
Family and friends will gather 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 for visitation and the service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Danny will be laid to rest with military honors at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
