Mr. Daryl H. Minix, 39, originally from Rochester, most recently of Lebanon, passed away May 29, 2017, at Witham Hospital in Lebanon. Daryl was born on June 11, 1977, in Plymouth, Ind., the son of David Minix and Mary Rose (Nix) Watkins.
He married Courtney Jean Thompson on Oct. 1, 2016; she survives.
Daryl was an entrepreneur, having owned and operated several businesses. He was very interested in business operations and finance.
Daryl was a fan of Notre Dame football. He also coached his children's baseball teams for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Courtney Minix of Lebanon; father, David (Kim) Minix of Rochester; mother, Mary Watkins of Lebanon; sons, Mason Minix of Lebanon, and Tyson, Blake and Brady Minix of Rochester; daughters, Jordan and Ava Minix of Rochester, and Brilynn Cox of Lebanon; sisters, Abigail (Charlie) Glasson of Thorntown, Samantha (Dustin) Minix of Kewana, and Ashley (Colt) Minix of Ft. Wayne; paternal grandparents, Herbert and Dolores Minix of Rochester; and several aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews. Daryl was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sigel Nix and Minia Owens; and his stepfather, Jay Watkins.
Family and friends will gather Monday, June 5, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m., with Pastor Sam Westmoreland officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Daryl will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
