Diana Kaye's Story
Diana Kaye (Newman) Huard, 54, of Hobart, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Diana was born on Dec. 1, 1962, in Lebanon, to surviving parents, Kenneth and Martha Newman.
After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1981, she received an associate degree from Vincennes University.
She held various administrative positions over the years and was always a hardworking, loyal employee.
Her greatest joy in life was being a nurturing, loving mom to her four children, Danielle (Oliver) Dorsuleski, and Brendan, Baylee and Dana Huard; and a devoted wife for 32 years to her soulmate, Brent.
Diana was an avid reader, but for the past 17 months most enjoyed being the BEST Nana to her precious grandson, Owen, whom she loved to the moon and back.
Diana is also survived by her sister, Christine (Rodney) Moore; brother, Tim Newman; parents-in-law, Keith and Barbara Huard; brother-in-law, Trever Huard; sisters-in-law, Cheri Eriks and Julie Huard; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends, who will miss her dearly. Diana was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Wayne Newman in 1958 and Charles Louis Newman in 1959.
Visitation for Diana will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 509 W. Division Road, Valparaiso.
