Mr. Donald Harlan, 91, passed away at his home in Lebanon on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016. He was born in Jamestown on May 31, 1925, a son of the now late Forrest C. Harlan and Mary Ethel (Northcutt) Harlan.
Don was a lifelong resident of Boone County, and attended Jamestown High School.
On Feb. 6, 1948, he married Betty Jean Abel in Indianapolis. Betty passed away on March 16, 1992.
Don had been a farmer all his life. He was a member of the Elks, Moose Lodge, American Legion and the Boone County Conservation Club.
Don was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and spending time with his great-grandchildren and family.
Survivors include daughter, Donna J. Scott of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jacob Scott and wife, Angharad, of Indianapolis and Carrie Carter and husband, Anthony, of Scottsburg, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Kellan Carter, Beau Carter, Caris Carter, Harlan Scott and Mallory Scott.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Don was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ginny White and Eileen Lewis; and a son-in-law, Ray Scott.
Private family services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
