Ila Jane Batts, 54, passed away at her home on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 3, 1963 in Lebanon, a daughter of Mary Jane (Reagan) Arnold and the late Robert Devon Arnold, Sr.
On Sept. 22, 1984, she was married to Edward Batts in Lebanon; he survives.
A life-resident of Lebanon, she graduated from Lebanon High School in 1981.
She worked several years at Royal Cleaners before going to American Air Filter and Case New Holland as a production clerk.
Ila enjoyed playing cards, loved shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include husband, Edward Batts of Lebanon; children, Terry Batts of Lebanon and Carrie Batts of Lebanon; two step-children, Scott Batts of Ohio and Stacie Schmitt of Kirklin; mother, Mary Jane Arnold of Lebanon; one brother, Robert D. Arnold, Jr. and wife, Darlene of Lebanon; two sisters, Beverly England of Advance, Dawn Hunter and husband, Paul of Whitestown; six grandchildren, Brianna Batts, Tyler Batts, Levi Schmitt, Dylan Schmitt, Kallie Shepherd and Max Shepherd; and one great-grandchild, Aiden Batts.
In addition to her father, Ila was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley M. Arnold, and her step-father, Charles Snow.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. No services are planned. Boone County Crematory in Lebanon has been entrusted with her cremation.
