Mr. Jack Burgin, 93, of Frankfort, died at 12:53 a.m. July 22, 2016, at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born March 18, 1923, in Frankfort, to Walter and Mabel (Hughes) Burgin Sr.
He was formerly married to Mary Myers. He then married Betty J. Egbert on Dec. 29, 1967; she preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 1993.
Mr. Burgin attended Frankfort schools and was a lifelong Frankfort resident. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
Mr. Burgin worked for National Homes, retiring after 28 years.
He enjoyed raccoon hunting, bingo, fishing and poker.
He is survived by two daughters, Evelyn (Ivan) Lawson of Jonesboro, Ark, and Elizabeth (Dan) Burgin-Day of Indianapolis; three sons, Jackie L. (Shirley) Burgin of Frankfort, Jerry Burgin of Billings, Mont., and Johnny (Janice) Burgin of Frankfort; one stepson, Bill (Marilyn) Toney of South Bend; one stepdaughter, Peggy Toney of Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Sherry Burgin; and 15 grandchildren, several stepgrandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Burgin; two sisters, Ruth Burgin and Mary Brown; two brothers, Jim Burgin and David Burgin; and two stepsons.
Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery in Boone County.
