James David "Jim" Neese, 77, of Colfax, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Witham Extended Care in Lebanon. He was born March 5, 1940, in Zionsville, to Richard Leon and Edith Evelyn (Essex) Neese.
Jim was a mail carrier in Zionsville and Frankfort, and was also a farmer all throughout his life. He was a "people person" and was very friendly. He was a member of Countryside Christian Fellowship in Lebanon, where he served with leadership. He also enjoyed toy tractors and toy cars.
On Sept. 4, 1971, Jim married the former Pauline Denman, with whom he celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
Surviving family includes wife, Pauline Neese of Colfax; one son, David Leon (Jill) Neese; one daughter, Dana Marie Neese; grandchildren, Heath and Ollie; and one sister, Joan Timmons of Whitestown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janet Shoemaker.
Visitation is 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Countryside Christian Fellowship, 600 W. 500 N, Lebanon. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to either Gideons International or to the Alzheimer's Association.
