Jane Demaree Eberly, 77, died Sept. 28, 2016, at her home. Born on Jan. 22, 1939, in Lebanon, she was a daughter of Brewer and Doris E. (Kimmel) Demaree, both now deceased.
She received her RN from Marion County General Hospital, where she met her husband of 55 years, Arthur Lee Eberly Jr., M.D.
Settling in Lighthouse Point, Fla., she was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Broward County and Florida Medical Alliances, where she served as president. Jane, primarily a homemaker, loved entertaining her family and friends in her home. After retiring in Greenville, S.C., she became active in the Greenville County Medical Alliance, and was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church.
Most proud of her family, Jane is survived by her husband, Arthur L. Eberly Jr. M.D., three children, Arthur L. Eberly III M.D. and wife, Stacy, John B. Eberly M.D. and wife, Ronda, and Sarah E. Hendricks and husband, Kevin, of Greenville, S.C., and eight grandchildren, Catherine Demaree Eberly, Margaret Ryan Eberly and Arthur Lee Eberly IV, John Brewer Eberly Jr. and wife, Dendy, Elizabeth Eberly Jackson and husband, Adam, Caroline Margaret Hendricks, Charlotte Emily Hendricks and Wallace Alexander Hendricks.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John K. Demaree; and a sister, Marilyn D. Montgomery.
A memorial service was held at St. Matthews UMC in Greenville, on Oct. 1. A service of committal will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, with the Rev. Todd Outcalt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the committal service at Ulen Country Club in Lebanon.
