Jeanette A. Shahan, 78, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born in Lebanon on Sept. 7, 1938, a daughter of the now late Garvin S. "Buck" Dixon and Elva Louise (Mutchler) Dixon.
Jeanette was a lifelong resident of Boone County, and attended Lebanon High School.
She was married to Joe Shahan on Feb. 4, 1966, in Lebanon; Joe survives.
Jeanette had first worked Joe's Used Furniture as a sales clerk. She then worked at Kauffman Engineering, and later at Wal-Mart in the electronics department. Jeanette was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing games on the computer, and floral design.
Jeanette was a member of Hope Community Church in Lebanon.
Survivors include husband, Joe Shahan of Lebanon; children, Debbie Lee and husband, Robert, of Lebanon, and Lisa Morgan and husband, Chad, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Gary Michael Bales, Felicia Nicole Lee, Robert Edward Lee II, Thomas Michael Morgan and Joshua Matthew Morgan; great-grandchildren, Michael Owen Bales, Matthew John Bales, Kaylee Anne Reagan and Lexi Lynn Bowman; sister, Sandra Lynn Whisler of Lebanon; brothers, Richard Dixon of Colfax and Paul Dixon of Lebanon.
In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Smith and Joyce Dick; and a brother, Robert Padgett.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
