Mr. Jeffrey Wayne Keim, 61, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully, while surrounded by his family, on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at 9:00 p.m. in the Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon. He was born May 18, 1955, in Crawfordsville, to Jason E. and Mary Elizabeth (Hester) Keim.
He married Cynthia Dianne Smith on March 29, 2008, in Lebanon. She survives.
Jeff retired after 18 years with R.R. Donnelley, where he worked in the Utilities Office. He also retired after 21 years from the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard, having been stationed in Alaska for several years.
He was a 1973 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; a member of the Crawfordsville American Legion Post #72; and in his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and hiking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mary Beth Keim of Crawfordsville; children, David Yeoman of McCordsville, Jennifer Elston of Rossville and Elizabeth Ruark of Lebanon. Also surviving are his brothers, Stephen (Priscilla) Keim of Westfield, Brian (Cheryl) Keim of Crawfordsville and Eric (Katrina) Keim of Lugoff, SC.; grandchildren, Bethany, Emily, Haley, Gabe, Gavin, Brandon and Corey. He was preceded in death by his father in 2014; his son-in-law, Kyle Elston in August 2016; and his grandparents.
The family will greet friends from 2 to 6 p.m. today, Sept. 13, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Cremation was chosen, with a memorial service being held at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Pastor Greg Higbee officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montgomery County Community Foundation for the Veteran's Court, P.O. Box 334, Crawfordsville, IN 47933; the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
