Jeremy Lamar, 41, of Lebanon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was born in Lebanon on May 30, 1976, a son of Dan Lamar and the late Constance "Connie" (Wethington) Lamar.
A life-resident of Lebanon, Jeremy graduated from Lebanon High School in 1995. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Purdue University in 2000, where he was also a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda. Following graduation, he partnered with his father in their family owned insurance agency, Lamar and Lamar Insurance. Jeremy was a past member of Selective Insurance Personal Lines advisory board. He obtained and maintained his Certified Insurance Council Designation, (CIC) and was a member of the AGBC Board.
Jeremy was very involved and a strong supporter for the community. He was a longtime member of the City Council and a former president of the Lebanon Kiwanis Club. He was proud of his president's project which was the founding of the Lebanon's Kiwanis Action Club. Jeremy was a member St. Joseph Catholic Church and active in the Lebanon Christian Church as well.
He loved the role of being a father to his two beautiful children. One of his greatest joys was spending time with them and their activities. When he was not participating in the events around Lebanon, Jeremy enjoyed time spent with his family at their lake house. He enjoyed scuba diving, sky diving, and riding motorcycles.
Survivors include son, Ethan Lamar; daughter, Harper Jolee Lamar; father, Dan L. (Sue) Lamar of Lebanon;
sister, Jessica Ann (Travis) Bonnell of Indianapolis; step-sisters, Michelle (Greg) Barber of Danville and Nikki (Josh) Haire of West Chester, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Carter and Connor Bonnell, Adam and Lydia Barber and Kendyl and Maddox Haire; uncle, Jim (Jeanine) Lamar of Milan, Indiana; aunts, Katy (Paul) Bowman of Lebanon, Ann (Larry) Albaugh) of Crawfordsville, Kathy (John) Cross of Lebanon and Martha (George) Sigler of Lebanon; along with many cousins.
In addition to his mother, Jeremy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Richard and Carolyn Sue Lamar, and maternal grandparents, Felix and Adell Wethington.
Funeral Mass is planned for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 319 E. South St., in Lebanon, with Rev. Timothy Kroeger officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, March 5 with a prayer service beginning at 8 p.m. Interment will follow services at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lebanon.
