Mrs. E. Joanne Beebe, 94, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. She was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Jefferson Township near Dover, the daughter of the now late Fred and Blanche E. (Miller) Busenbark.
On July 20, 1943, she was married to Floyd Calvin Beebe in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1985.
A lifelong resident of Boone County, Joanne was a 1941 graduate of Dover High School. She later attended nursing school at Methodist Hospital School of Nursing.
As a registered nurse, Joanne worked for more than 30 years for Greenacres Medical Group in Crawfordsville. She retired in 1986.
Joanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada, and enjoyed sports, crafts and playing cards with friends. Joanne was a lifelong member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Shannondale. Her other memberships included Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Dover Double Dozen Home Ec Club, Neighborhood Club, Shannondale Ladies Aid, Thorntown Card Club, and she was an auxiliary member of the Thorntown American Legion.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ramsey and husband, Larry, of Crawfordsville, and Leanna S. Newby of Thorntown; five grandchildren, Lynnette S. Boone and husband, Jeff, Laura Strother and companion, Eric Roberds, Leah Bangle and husband, Brad, Anita Coppock and husband, Jeff, and Eddie Newby and companion, Kayse; 11 great-grandchildren, Ashtin Main and husband, James, Jobie Joslin, Tray Ray, McGwire Strother, Dawson Strother, Mackenzie Boone, Gunner Boone, Bryce Coppock, Andrew Coppock and Cory Coppock; stepgreat-grandchildren, Jamison, Kyndal and Kynadi; great-great-grandson, Beau Main; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joanne was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor M. Busenbark and Hugh LeRoy Busenbark; a son-in-law, Edward Newby; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Busenbark, Donna Busenbark and Mary Massing; and a grandson-in-law, Brad Strother.
Visitation is planned for 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, with Pastor Jody Burks officiating. Interment will follow at the Shannondale Cemetery in Shannondale.
