John Giltner, 82, of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon. He was born May 2, 1935, in Madison, a son of the now late Wilbur and Ida Francis (Taulman) Giltner.
On May 6, 1961, he was married to Dollie Rose Fish in Celina, Tenn.; she survives.
John was raised in the Madison community and attended Madison Schools.
He had worked for Colors, Inc., in Indianapolis. He then worked for Crown Cork & Seal in Crawfordsville until his retirement.
John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He enjoyed fishing, and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include wife, Dollie Giltner of Lebanon; children, Vicki Dukes and husband, Russell, of Lebanon, Thomas Giltner and wife, Marjie, of Plainfield and Pamela Giltner of Lebanon; grandchildren, Daniel Giltner of Plainfield and Aaron Giltner of Plainfield. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Giltner; a nephew, Jackie Giltner; and a great-nephew, Danny Giltner.
Visitation is planned for 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorials may be made in his honor to a charity of the donor's choice.
