Joshua Ray Meeks, 35, of Lebanon, died at 2:32 p.m. July 21, 2017, at Witham Memorial Hospital. Our family didn't realize that it was possible to feel so heartbroken, yet so relieved at the same time. After watching you struggle for 13 long years, your fight is finally over. You're Free!
Josh was born Aug. 21, 1981, in Frankfort, to Gordie and Patty (Wyatt) Meeks.
He attended Frankfort High School.
Josh was an avid outdoorsman, and loved fishing and camping. We often said that he was born 100 years too late. He loved playing sports such as basketball and football.
Josh was a loyal Colts fan, win or lose. He enjoyed listening to music, and chillin' with friends and family.
Josh was such a likable guy, so laid back and carefree. His nickname was "The Gentle Giant." He made such an impact on the lives of those that he came in contact with in just the short amount of time that he was with us. Josh was loved by many.
Josh is survived by parents, Gordie and Patty Meeks of Frankfort; son, Joshua Gordon Meeks of Frankfort; two sisters, Davina Leigh Meeks of Frankfort, and Breanna Jo (Paul) Adair of Frankfort; the mother of his son, Stacey Taylor and her son, Jordan Swope, of Frankfort. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.
