Kenneth "K.D."'s Story

Kenneth "K.D." Lee Doyle, 71, passed away at his home in Indianapolis on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017. He was born in Lebanon, on Sept. 19, 1946, a son of the late Ernest Richard and Iva Esther (Wethington) Doyle.
Kenny attended Saint Joseph School in Lebanon and graduated in 1964 from Lebanon High School. He joined the United States Army after graduation and served in Vietnam in the 11th Armored Calvary. During his time in the service Kenny earned several medals of distinction, including both the Silver Star and Bronze Star. He was married to Sandra K. (Whiteley) Doyle for 30 years, they divorced and she survives.
At an early age Kenny was a paper boy for the Lebanon Reporter in his neighborhood. Kenny was employed at General Motors as a Millwright in the Truck and Bus division for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, bowling and vacationing at Dogtooth Lake, Canada.
Memberships included Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon, 33rd Degree Mason and Member of Scottish Rite, V.F.W. in Lebanon and Indianapolis and President of Vietnam Vet Motorcycle Club, Bedford Chapter.
Survivors include two daughters, Kendra D. (Rob) Nance of Lebanon and Toni S. (Travis) Lee of Lebanon; one grandchild, Chase Lee of Lebanon; companion, Martha Hernandez of 22 years of Indianapolis; one sister, Kathryn R. Lancaster; sister-in-law, Susan E. Doyle of Lebanon; and several nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Steven R. Doyle.
Visitation is planned for 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon St., in Lebanon. A Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 319 East South St., in Lebanon. Interment with military rites will follow services at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lebanon.
