Kenneth E. Mitchell, 68, of Jamestown, passed away July 15, 2017, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. Kenneth was born on Nov. 4, 1948, in Lebanon, the son of the now late Tom and Evelyn (Cook) Mitchell.
Kenneth married Barbara Linton on Dec. 28, 1968; she survives.
He served in the United States Navy for four years. He worked at General Motors for 30 years.
Kenneth was a member of the Jamestown American Legion.
He loved telling stories, and whenever you would ask him how he was, he would always say, "finer than frog hair split four ways."
Kenneth was an avid IU basketball fan, he loved his World Champion Cubs, and he enjoyed watching and taking pictures for the Merchants baseball team in Lebanon. He never met a stranger and he could talk to anyone.
Kenneth was so proud of his family.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara Mitchell; his daughter, Angie (Jeremy) Ragsdale; his son, Kenny (Christie) Mitchell Jr.; his grandkids, Jonathon (Hannah), Jacob, Jason, Kyle, Madison and Noah; his brothers, Tom (Debbie), Earl and Ronnie (Sandy) Mitchell, all of Jamestown.
Family and friends will gather Wednesday, July 19, for visitation from 4 until 8 p.m. and services will be held Thursday, July 20, at 11 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Kenneth will be laid to rest at Jamestown IOOF Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Porter Funeral Home in Jamestown.
