Margaret E. Broshar passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Witham Memorial Hospital. She was born May 24, 1929, in Mellott, the daughter of Walter and Fauneil (Houts) Brown.
She graduated from Richland Township High School in 1947.
She was employed at R.R. Donnelley in Crawfordsville for a while after graduation, and continued to work a short while after her marriage to Aron Lee Broshar, of Jamestown, on Nov. 24, 1949. They were married at their farm home north of Jamestown, where they spent 62 years of marriage.
She stopped working at Donnelley's a short time after their marriage, and enjoyed several years helping her husband on the family farm until they retired in 1993.
She was a member of the Jamestown Christian Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aron Lee Broshar on March 31, 2012; and her sister, Mary Oliver of Crawfordsville. She is survived by her son, Gary (Susan) of Jamestown; grandchildren, Cody Broshar, Dylan (Alyssa) Broshar, Garrett Broshar, Michael (Diana Fields) Shirley, Dustin (Haley) Shirley and Electra (Nic Curtis) McClaine; great-grandchildren, Lukas and Gunner Shirley, Tate and Gage Fields, and Harrison Shirley; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather Monday, May 8, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, 315 W. Main, Jamestown, with Pastor Scott Ailes officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest in the Jamestown IOOF Cemetery.
