Marjorie's Story

Mrs. Marjorie Lee Sipe, 77, passed away Sunday morning, June 11, 2017, at her home in Lebanon, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 17, 1940, in Lebanon, a daughter of the now late Earl and Ruth Florence (Williams) Duncan.
She was first married to Richard M. Kouns, he passed away in August 1960. Then on Oct. 9, 1993, she was married to L. Wayne Sipe in Lebanon; he survives.
A lifelong resident of Boone County, Marjorie was a 1958 graduate of Pinnell High School.
She retired from the finance department at American Health Network in Lebanon in 1997.
Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly.
She was a longtime member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, and for the last several years, she was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, both of Lebanon. In addition to her family, Marjorie had many interests including riding horses, cooking, reading, planting flowers and collecting antiques. Survivors include husband, L. Wayne Sipe of Lebanon; four sons, Gerald Keith Lasley and wife, Lou Ann, of Lebanon, John Ryan Lasley and fiancée, Diana, of Lebanon, Randall K. Lasley and husband, Ron Bates, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Michael A. Lasley and wife, Roxanne, of Lebanon; three stepchildren, Steven Sipe and wife, Cindy, of Lebanon, Susan Broshar and husband, Gary, of Jamestown, and Mark Sipe of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren, Aaron Lasley and wife, Maggie, of Zionsville, Kyle Lasley and wife, Danielle, of Corydon, Danielle Lasley of Avon, Andrew Lasley and wife, Taylor, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Shirley of Lebanon, Dustin Shirley and wife, Haley, of Lebanon, Preston Sipe and wife, Valerie, of Lebanon, Landon Sipe and wife, Hannah, of Indianapolis, Electra McClaine of Jamestown, Blade Lasley and wife, Lauren, of Lebanon, and Skye Murphy and husband, Wade, of Lebanon; 11 great-grandchildren, Lukas Shirley, Cam Lasley, Gunner Shirley, Charlie Lasley, Claire Lasley, Kylie Lasley, Wes Lasley, Ruth Lasley, Harrison Shirley, Brammer Lasley and Gryffin Lasley; sister, Bonnie L. Morphew of Danville; sister-in-law, Carol Duncan of Lebanon; brother-in-law, Doug West of Pittsboro; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by two brothers, Don G. Duncan and Robert K. Duncan; two sisters, Linda Lou Duncan and Betty Jo West; and a brother-in-law, Harold Morphew.
Visitation is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary, with the Rev. Anthony Stone officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in North Salem.
