Martha Bartlett's Story
Mrs. Martha E. Bartlett Finch, 96, of Lebanon, passed away Sept. 26, 2017, at Homewood Health Campus.
Martha was born Jan. 20, 1921 in Boone County, a daughter of the late Charles N. Bush and Nellie Mae (Kouns) Bush. She was married to Eugene Bartlett on Sept. 16, 1939 and they had a son, Ron Bartlett. He survives. Gene died in 1999. She then married Dennis Finch. He died in 2015.
Martha was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her garden. Martha was a longtime member of Lebanon First Baptist Church and for a number of years she held the position of Historian.
Survivors include her son Ron (Susi) Bartlett of Lebanon, granddaughter Dr. Beth Bartlett of Schaumburg, IL and step-granddaughter Jackie Long of Carmel. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Gene and Dennis, a daughter-in-law Harlene Bartlett and a step-daughter Janet Land.
Family and friends will gather Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 for visitation from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 30, visitation from 10 a.m. until time of services 11 a.m. with David Wright officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Martha will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
