Martha Ellen Metzger Webb, 89, of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at Homewood Healthcare in Lebanon.
She was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Frankfort, the daughter of Ralph and Laura Sheets Metzger. On Oct. 19, 1946, she married Lt. Walter G. Webb; together they shared 68 years before he passed away on Oct. 17, 2014.
Martha graduated from Frankfort High School with honors. She was proud to be a U.S. Navy wife of 30 years. After Walt retired in 1973, they moved back home to Frankfort where they worked together at The Milky Way for the next 20 years.
Martha believed there was no greater holiday than Christmas and her families' birthdays. Her love of the outdoors included her beautiful, prize winning flower beds, fishing at "the lake" with her sister and teaching her grandchildren as well, and golfing with Walt and her many friends.
Martha was a member of the Zonta Club of Frankfort, for more than 30 years; she was an instrumental part of starting their chicken noodle dinner. Martha enjoyed sewing her children's clothes, including Laura's wedding dress.
Martha is survived by her daughters, Linda McPherson, Laura (Robert) McClelland, and Lisa (Brian) Richards; the greatest pleasure in her life, her grandchildren, Riley McPherson, Amy (Brian) Waggoner, Alex (Audrey) McClelland, Maggie (Aaron) Lasley, Keith (Sharon) Richards and Kyle (Lani) Richards; and her great-grandchildren, Aiden Mendoza, Brett Waggoner, Martha Emily Waggoner, Lucas Waggoner, Elle McClelland, Claire Lasley, Weston Lasley, Jordan Richards, Jeffrey Richards, Justin Richards, Josiah Richards, Kiana Richards, and Leila Richards. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
