Marvin's Story

Mr. Marvin Henry Ford, 75, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Advance on July 13, 1941, a son of the now late Marvin Roy and Mary Jane (Hinkle) Ford.
A lifelong resident of Boone County, Marvin was raised in Advance; however, he resided most of his life in Lebanon.
On June 4, 1960, he was married to Vivian Louise (McClaine) Ford in Advance. She passed away on July 16, 2009.
Marvin was an electrician by trade and had worked for Earl Smith Electric and Kauffman Engineering, both of Lebanon.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Marvin loved his family and the time they spent together. He enjoyed the outdoors, NASCAR and was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
Survivors include four children, Roger H. Ford of Lebanon, Christina "Chris" L. Hodges and husband, David, of Crawfordsville, Rebecca Lynn Brown and husband, Tom, of Zionsville and David R. Ford and wife, Mindy, of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Adam Ford and wife, Tiffany, of Lebanon, Ashley Ford of Indianapolis, Heather Sutton and husband, Greg, of Waveland, Alan Ford of Lebanon, Alex Ford of Lebanon, Nick Ford of Lebanon and Samantha Ford of Lebanon; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Ford of Lebanon, Terry Ford and wife, Sue, of Lebanon and Robert Ford of Crawfordsville; sister, Jane DeHaven of- Advance; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Marvin was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sue Ford, and a brother-in-law, Walter DeHaven.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at the mortuary. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
