Mary's Story

Mrs. Mary Alice Richardson, 87 passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Boone County, Indiana on March 8, 1930, a daughter of the late Ancel Gerald Louks and Susie (Wright) Louks Brakefield.
A longtime resident of Boone County, Mary attended Thorntown High School. She married Stanley Eugene Richardson on May 23, 1947 in Boone County. He passed away on Sept. 30, 1999.
She and her late husband owned and operated their family business, Richardson Trucking, from 1957-1988. Mary drove and did the bookkeeping. All three sons also drove for the family business. Later in life she was a cashier when Meijer first opened in Indianapolis. She worked the front desk at a local daycare and also worked the front desk at Lee's Inn for a number of years.
Mary was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who enjoyed being with family, working the family business and loved sewing. Mary was a faithful member at Hope Community Church in Lebanon.
Survivors include children Richard (Kathy) Richardson of Camden, David (Mary) Richardson of Lebanon, and Diane Killion of Lebanon, eighteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; sister Wilma (Donald) Hampton of Shalimar, Florida, brother Melvin (Susan) Louks of Kokomo.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Dennis "Denny" Richardson and a brother Eugene Louks.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at Myers Mortuary 1502 N Lebanon St. in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation is planned for 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at Pleasant View Cemetery west of Lebanon.
