Mary's Story

Mary Catherine "Cathy" Wagoner, 68, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. She was born on May 17, 1949, in Boone County, a daughter of the now late Robert H. Dickey and Mary C. (Ford) Dickey.
Mary graduated from Granville Wells in 1968.
On Oct. 29, 1977, she was married to David "Joe" Wagoner; he survives.
A lifelong resident of Boone County, Mary had worked as an executive housekeeper at the Holiday Inn. She had also worked at Prairie Industries, The Indy 500 Truck Stop as a waitress, and for several years she worked as a nurse's aide for various nursing homes.
Mary enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and The Caring Center in Lebanon.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Mary enjoyed crafting in her free time.
Survivors include husband, David "Joe" Wagoner of Lebanon; son, Steven Wagoner of Lebanon; grandchildren, December Rayne Wagoner and Avironna Mae Wagoner; sister, Pam (Dickey) Wagoner and husband, Steve, of Lebanon; brothers, Larry Dickey and wife, Nancy, of Arizona, and Tim Dickey and wife, Debbie, of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Janie Dickey of Arizona, and Gwen Dickey of Thorntown; brother-in-law, Philip Hinkle of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Dickey and Phil Dickey; and a sister, Elizabeth Hinkle.
Visitation is planned for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon.
