Mina B Payne

Mina Payne (nee Baker) originally of Lebanon, passed away July 22nd. She is survived by her beloved husband, Sam and their three children, Mike, Jodie, and Dan.

Mina and Sam travelled the world with the USAF to such places as the Philippines, Hong Kong and many many of these United States. They have most recently resided with Jodie in Vail, Arizona, near Tucson.

While at Lebanon HS, Mina had been lead majorette, a member of Rainbow Girls and the National Honor Society.

She was an amazing cook and baker, even turning her love of cake making and decorating into a small business that many enjoyed. Mina was instrumental in creating her church's thriving Vacation Bible School program, touching the lives of so many children in her beloved community church.

Sharing Valentines birthdays, Mina and Sam were sweethearts, best friends and soulmates. They both met at the 1950 Indy 500 in Indianapolis and have been inseparable ever since, even through Sam's military deployments to both Korea and Vietnam during the war years.

Mina was the grandmother of 4 and the great grandmother of 4: Sarah, Brian, Heath, Heather, Alex, Sammy, London, and Berkeley.

"Mina", "Mom", "Pom Pom": Our dearest, most cherished sweet soul. We will miss you every day of our lives, and will forever hold you deep in our hearts.

I knew Mina as when she was a teenager. She and my sister Marilyn Ann Emmert were majorettes at Lebanon High school. Her folks lived just down the street from us. May God bless your family.
