Phillip Wayne Dickey Sr., 65, of Jamestown, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon. He was born in Lebanon on July 21, 1951, a son of the now late Robert Dickey and Mary Catherine (Ford) Dickey.
Phillip was a graduate of Granville Wells High School.
He spent 45 loving years married to Gwendolyn K. (Williams) Dickey; Gwendolyn survives.
Phillip had worked for 30 years farming for Bill Hathaway. He then worked for Libbertt Concessions and Crystal Food Services.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Phillip was blessed to know the Lord and shared his faith with his family and friends. His passion was the Angel Tree Ministry, and he was able to go with a group from Pleasant View Church on a mission trip. He was a deacon and trustee at Pleasant View Church. He loved teaching for the Awana Program and volunteering for the church.
In his spare time he enjoyed golf and fishing.
Survivors include wife, Gwen Dickey of Jamestown; children, Phillip Dickey Jr. and wife, Linnette, of Jamestown, Scott Dickey and wife, JoAnn, of Jamestown, and Lana Carr and husband, Gary, of Waynetown; brothers, Larry Dickey and wife, Nancy, of Arizona, and Timothy Dickey and wife, Deborah, of Arizona; sisters, Mary Catherine Waggoner and husband, Joe, of Lebanon, and Pam Waggoner and husband, Steve, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Brittani Skelton, Robert Dickey Pardee, Tommy Grimm III, Megan Dickey, Seth Dickey, Kaeli Grimm, Cheyenne Dickey, Allie Dickey, Wyatt Dickey and Joshua Dickey; great-grandchildren, Jayce Pardee and Brayden Grimm; and best friend and cousin, Francis Michael Ford.
In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Hinkle; a brother, Robert Dickey; and a son, Stanley Skelton III.
Memorial services will be held at Pleasant View Church, with Pastor Tom Evans officiating, at a later date.
Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
