Phyllis Miller, 90, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
She was born in Bedford, on Sept. 2, 1926, a daughter of the now late Robert and Ruth (Bass) Ikerd.
Phyllis attended both Broadripple and Shortridge High Schools and then Arsenal Tech High School where she graduated.
She was married in Indianapolis, in 1945 to Maurice Keith Miller; Maurice passed away in February 2003.
Phyllis had worked as a nurse at St. Vincent Hospital, Wishard Hospital and IU Medical Center in Indianapolis.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Phyllis enjoyed camping and traveling. She was an avid reader and spent many years raising Newfoundland dogs. She was a member of the Ellettsville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughter Andrea (Joseph) Semon of Lebanon; grandchildren Gregory Paul (Audria) Myers, II of Lebanon, and Christopher Eric Myers and companion, Laura Pope of Noblesville; step-grandson Eric Jason (Casey) Blackburn of Indianapolis; six great-grandchildren; and brother Robert (Mary Louise ) Ikerd of Indianapolis.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
Myers Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
