R. Kevin Stevens, 58, of Fountain Valley, Calif., formerly of Thorntown, passed away on Feb. 18, 2018, at Orange Coast Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lebanon on July 12, 1959, to the late Lloyd and Marilyn (Gaddis) Stevens of Thorntown. Kevin graduated from Western Boone High School in 1977. After high school he moved to Chicago where he marched with the Cavaliers, (a rifle and drum corp). He later moved to California and worked as the director of corporate activities for Mesa Management in New Port Beach. Kevin was a Tupperware manager for 21 years previously. He was rated one of the top 4 product demonstrators out of 1000 in a national contest. Kevin was creative, energized, and considerate with a great sense of humor. He knew no strangers and loved putting on a good party. Kevin will be missed by all his family and friends. Surviving are brothers Chuck and Mike (Cindy) Stevens of Thorntown; sisters Lynn (Bob) Patton of Rossville and Jan Stevens of Thorntown; four nephews, three nieces, two great-nieces, and one great-nephew; three aunts, Phyllis Allen, Barbara Donaldson and Nancy Stevens, and uncle, Maurice Stevens; stepmother, Pat Mitchell, of Thorntown; stepbrother and best friend, Jay Mitchell, of Chicago; and stepsister, Robin (Ed) Moffitt of Thorntown. In accordance to Kevin's wishes, he was cremated, leaving part of his ashes scattered in the Pacific Ocean in celebration of his life (his favorite place being at the beach), and the remainder brought back to Thorntown.
