We met Howard and Sharon when we began two years of service at All Tribes School in 1960. They were a few years older than we were and became friends during one year of service together. Howard was a kind friend and brother. We will miss him and his smile.

Sorry to hear this news, yet my heart rejoices that he has completed the race. I didn't know Brother Bearfoot all that well, just from him filling in at the Monon Wesleyan Church. I always enjoyed his sermons, and his kind heart. Brother Bearfoot was a wonderful man, and will be missed.

Brother Barefoot was the minister at the Lebanon Wesleyan Church during the sixties. My family attended church there and even though my Sister, Sharon Jones, myself, Eve Jones and my brother, Bill Jones were teenagers, Brother Barefoot guided our spiritual lives with his messages, his singing, his love for every person in the church and his wonderful sense of humor. He and his wife, Dorothy, became "family" to our entire family. Throughout the years since then he and Dorothy have been more like family. Brother Barefoot had a true calling for sheperding God's children. He was of great comfort to us when my Mother, Mable Jones, became ill and even joined the rest of us as she drew her last bre...ath here on earth. We sang her favorite hymns as she departed this world and went to heaven. He stopped by Jones TV many times and was an inspiration to my brother. A week before his death he called from his hospital room in Florida just to chat with my husband. He and Dorothy were our neighbors, our friends and our family in Christ. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We pray for Dorothy and their children and families. May God's peace be with each one of them. Brother Barefoot, we will see you in Heaven!Read more

He not only was my pastor in my early years, he was also my 4th grade teacher. Such a sweet, kind and loving man.

I so enjoyed teaching with Howard. He was honest, caring, and always dependable!! He shared such great stories!! He was firm with the students, but was quick to encourage them, and congratulate them for their accomplishments!! He loved Jesus, and was always busy, visiting those who were ill, going to the hospital, and praying with patients there! He had so much energy, and was a wonderful example to students! I also went to his church, and played the piano and sang, on occasion. I am very glad I knew Howard Barefoot!

I had the privilege to have Howard along with Dorothy as teachers. I remember my 6th grade year coming into the science lab to a teacher whom had done an experiment over the summer that had in turn turned his hair a green color. Howard was always such a kind and thoughtful individual and always eager to show a student something new and inspirational through the art of science. My condolences for Dorothy and family as they lay him to rest as I hope that the knowledge that Howard is with our precious Lord finds them comfort in this time. I will be praying for you all. God bless.

I am post that so many are rejoicing in heaven to him there. He was my pastor for several years at Wesleyan Church at Colfax. Always loved listening to him. He was there when I was in a terrible accident in 1999 and life line to Methodist Hospital. I grew as a Christian because of him. He also brought my papaw to Jesus. Truly was sent to earth from God to do his work. What a wonderful man and he may now dance with Jesus. Sorry for the loss on earth but heaven definitely gained a earthly angel
