Richard "Dick"'s Story

Mr. Richard L. "Dick" DeLashmit, 79, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018. He was born in Indianapolis on Oct. 5, 1938 the son of the late John Samuel and Mary Maxine (Gwinn) DeLashmit.
On Oct. 4, 1959, he was married to Linda L. (McCoskey) DeLashmit in Eagletown, Indiana. They later divorced and she survives.
Dick attended Noblesville High School. He worked for Eugene Smith Farms of Lebanon, Asplundh Tree Service, and most recently, he retired from Prairie Industries in the maintenance department.
Dick enjoyed fabrication of any and all things and helping local farmers. He was a member of the Lebanon Eagles. Dick truly enjoyed riding his motorcycle, wherever the road took him.
Survivors include his former wife, Linda L. DeLashmit of Lebanon; children, Richard M. DeLashmit of Desert Center, Calif. and Sharon L. DeLashmit of Lebanon; grandchildren, Michelle N. Harsin of Jamestown, Samantha A. (Mike) Broach of Lebanon, Stephanie R. (Jason) Kixmiller of Indianapolis, Brandon L. Myers of Lebanon and Steven L. Thacker of Lebanon; great-grandchildren, Caleb Z. Harsin, Taylor N. Metzger, Abigayle R. Metzger, Drew M. Barlow, Rhett Kixmiller and Piper Kixmiller; sisters, Patricia A. (Howard) Scroggins of Huron, Ohio and Mary Jo (Tom) Hall of Daleville, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda L. Thacker and his beloved dog, Thor.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.
Funeral Services are planned for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will be held at Ladoga Cemetery in Montgomery County.
