Ronald Eugene "Ron" Taylor, 69, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at his residence in Lebanon. He was born on June 7, 1948, in Springfield, Ohio, a son of the now late Marvin Eugene and Martha Marie (Potter) Taylor.
Raised in Ohio, Ron was a graduate of Urbana High School. He then served his country with honor in the United States Army.
On Sept. 21, 1974, Ron was married to Ruth A. Doan; she survives.
Ron had worked at Johnson Controls, formerly known as Lau Industries, for 30 years as a welder.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling, arrowhead hunting and antiquing.
Survivors include wife, Ruth A. Taylor of Lebanon; children, Heather Garner and husband, Jason, of Cape Coral, Fla., and Melinda Scott of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Isabella Garner, Trinity Garner, J.T. Garner, Audrey Scott, Bridget Scott, Penelope Scott, Abigail Scott and James Stum III; and brother, Steven Douglas Taylor and wife, Robin, of Zanesville, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Memorial services with military rites are planned for 5 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Boone County Crematory has been entrusted with his cremation.
