Mr. Stephen A. "Steve" Luper, 68, of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born in Lebanon on May 23, 1948, a son of the now late Robert A. and Vinnie M. (List) Luper.
Steve was lifelong resident of Boone County. He was a 1967 graduate of Thorntown High School.
He was married to Patricia J. "Tish" Breedlove on Oct. 27, 1967, in Mechanicsburg; she survives.
Steve had worked as a truck driver and a diesel mechanic for many years. He then spent the last three years working for Wilson Trailers, before retiring at the age of 65.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed doing lawn work, camping and fishing in his spare time.
Steve was a member of Mechanicsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include wife, Tish Luper of Lebanon; three sons, Allen R. Luper and wife, Sonya, of Boswell, Chad S. Luper of Whitestown and Brent Luper and wife, Angie, of Kirklin; six grandchildren, Christa Luper, Mathew Luper, Logan Luper, Alex Luper, Garrett Luper and Chloe Janssen; brothers, Robert Lee Luper and wife, Connie, of Lebanon and Larry Leon Luper and wife, Dottie, of New Port Richie, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a brother, David Howard Luper; and a foster sister, Vicki Leath.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 25, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services are to be held at noon Saturday at the mortuary. Interment will be held at a later date at Hopewell Cemetery in Lebanon.
