Steven Lynn Detamore, 69, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born in Lebanon on Nov. 23, 1947, a son of the now late Lionel Dale Detamore and Ruth F. (Rose) Detamore Burgin.
Steven was a 1966 graduate of Lebanon High School. He attended Purdue Extension and then IUPUI, where he received an industrial engineering technology degree in 1977. He then went to Detroit, Mich., and graduated from General Motors Institute.
He was previously married to Jennifer LaBolle, Sherry Updike and Pam Ogden.
Steven began working in Indianapolis as a salesman for Don Sisk Pontiac. He then became a sales manager, first working for Scott Garten Buick GMC in North Carolina from 1992 to June 1997, and then Watson Chevrolet in Tucson, Ariz., until 2002, when he retired. He moved to Lebanon in 2002, and had resided there ever since.
In the past, Steven was a 32nd degree Mason of Lodge 669 in Indianapolis, and a member of the Indianapolis Murat Shrine and the Indianapolis Scottish Rite. In addition, he was a member of the Society of Sales Executives.
Steven enjoyed golfing, sail boating and scuba diving.
Survivors include three sons, Geoff Detamore and wife, Melissa, of Greenwood, Zachery Starr of Libertyville, Ill., and Lucas Starr of Libertyville; brother, James Howard Yost of Indianapolis; sisters, Alma Jean Haase and husband, Ron, of Indianapolis and Linda S. Chapple of Lebanon; nieces and nephews, Melissa Greene and husband, Rod, Scott Haase and Rachelle Wamsley; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Alex Haase, Ashleigh Wamsley, Isaiah Greene, Lakota Wamsley and Greg Birge.
In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by two sisters, Paula D. Detamore and Nancy D. Acuna; and brother-in-law, Paul Chapple.
Graveside services are to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Oak Hill Cemetery, 935 E. Washington St., Lebanon.
Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his arrangements.
