On Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, heaven received an angel. Thomas Michael "Mike" Billingsly, of Indianapolis, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Lebanon, on Jan. 31, 1945, a son of the now late Thomas Franklin and Betty Darene (Heidkamp) Billingsly. He was 71.
A resident of Marion County most of his life, Mike graduated from Lebanon High School in 1963. He also attended the John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis and Purdue University in West Lafayette. Following school he joined the United States Army.
Mike had worked for RCA in sales, and had owned Kimberly Sales in Indianapolis. He most recently worked in the sales department at the Glendale Lowe's in Indianapolis.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Mike loved spending time with his family. He was a car enthusiast and a great storyteller. In his spare time he enjoyed photography. He was an avid fan of Formula One Racing and the Indianapolis Colts.
Survivors include children, Kimberly Deffenbaugh and husband, Scott, of Lebanon, Robert Matthew Billingsly and wife, Kirstin Hudson, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mandy Billingsly of Frankfort; grandchildren, Zachary Deffenbaugh, Dalton Deffenbaugh, Dacen Billingsly and Arrow Hudson; and brother, William A. Billingsly of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Jay Billingsly; a son, Chris Billingsly; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Billingsly.
A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the American Legion, 1020 Hendricks Dr., Lebanon.
