Virginia Ann (Washam) Pomfret, 74, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 at her home in Lebanon. She was born in Baron County, Kentucky, on June 6, 1943, a daughter of the late Ora and Flossie (Birge) Washam. On Nov. 24, 1973, she was married to Galen W. "Bud" Pomfret, in Lebanon. He survives.
Virginia attended Lebanon High School and was a lifelong resident of Boone County. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Virginia was the owner/operator of B & G Crafts out of Headland, Alabama. She loved crafts, painting, knitting, crocheting and dearly loved her family. Virginia was a member at Mount Tabor Primitive Church in Fayette, Indiana.
Survivors include her husband, Galen "Bud" Pomfret of Lebanon; four children, Clifford Tyler of Lebanon, Kelly (Paul) Taylor of Lebanon, Delaina Pomfret and partner, Crystal Covington and her daughter, Kaylee of Hollywood, Florida, and Jay Smith of Mulberry; two step-sons, Mark Pomfret of Vero Beach, Florida, Jeffrey (Marilyn) Pomfret and and their daughters Heather and Danielle of Riverside, RI; six grandchildren, Miranda Tyler, Joshua Taylor, Elijah Taylor, Destini Ford, Madison Smith and Ian Pomfret; nine great-grandchildren, Baby Tyler, Josiah Taylor, Nathaniel Taylor, Gage Taylor, Kaiden Taylor, Liam Taylor, Sheldon Ford, LeAnn Bowers and Parker Buckingham; a brother, John (Patty) Washam of Kirklin; and a sister, Sallie Gordon of Fort Wayne.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by a brother, Girroll Washam and one sister, Imagene Quinn.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon St., Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation is planned from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home in Lebanon. Boone County Crematory in Lebanon has been entrusted with the arrangements for cremation. Memorial may be made in her honor to the charity of the Donor's Choice.
